Happy December my lovely readers! The year has flown by & once again it’s time to start counting down to Christmas. One of my favourite tasks in the run-up to the big day is decorating! I love being able to get creative & change-up our usual decor for a something a little more festive.
So, this year I chose to decorate my living room with bold, jewel-toned colours and sumptuous textures featuring Amara Living’s Midnight Jewel Collection. I was kindly sent some of their beautiful decorations to style, so take a look below at how I’ve incorporated the Midnight Jewel colour scheme into my home this Christmas. Enjoy!
The Living Room Transformation:
We’re lucky enough to have two living rooms and so for the majority of the year, this room has embarrassingly been used solely as a dumping ground. But hosting our family Christmas this year, I wanted this room to be transformed into a functional and inviting space that our guests can spend time in this Christmas.
So, I cleared the space and finally got to use my 29th birthday present to myself, my Beni Ourrain rug! I’m absolutely chuffed with my Ebay find (despite the ridiculously expensive import fees I hadn’t accounted for when bidding, doh!) so it’s taking centre stage this Christmas….well, alongside the tree, of course.
The Christmas Tree
Using a mix of gold baubles in amongst the beautiful jewel-toned decorations, I layered up the tree with blues, purples and greens. Whilst adding in a few more statement decorations to add greater pops of colour & different textures throughout.
From the bold, bright pops of colour, to the touches of gold that can be seen throughout, I adore the luxurious feel the midnight jewel colour theme adds to the room. I combined baubles from TK Maxx, Wilko’s and Asda with the ones I was gifted from the Midnight Jewel collection which I think they compliment them perfectly.
I also added a few black & white decorations and accessories to tie the scheme together nicely with our rug, like this fantastic Rory Dobner mug. Whilst the gold, decorative table, my trusty gold, sequin Daschund from John Lewis and this beautiful, peacock blue chair mirror the Midnight Jewel colour scheme.
I continued the jewel-toned colour scheme across the fireplace, using a mix of fairy lights, greenery and statement baubles to create a focal point across the shelf & trailing down the side.
The luxurious colour palette of Amara’s Midnight Jewel collection adds a real sense of luxe to the room. And with the introduction of the deep purples, midnight blue, golds & emerald green tones, combined with the sumptuous textures, embellishments and pattern throughout – the room has now been transformed.
Shelving & Accessories
With the fireplace and tree being quite heavily decorated, I kept the shelving decoration in the room to a minimal. I simply added a few baubles and smaller decorations to compliment the colour scheme throughout & to fit in with the gold ornaments that were already on the shelf.
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing how I’ve styled the Midnight Jewel collection from Amara Living and I hope I’ve inspired you all to incorporate this striking scheme, or another bold colour scheme into your interior this Christmas.
