6 ways to style your home on a budget

The Lusting Life - 6 Ways to style your home on a budget featuring H&M

So, I haven’t posted in a while but I’m back to share 6 ways to style your home on a budget, featuring a few of my favourite H&M Home high street finds. Enjoy!

I often find myself taking screenshots/ making mental lists of all the amazing interior bits & bobs other people have posted on Instagram & Twitter. But unfortunately my budget is limited, so I’ve become a dab hand at hunting out high-street, budget finds to add some stylish touches without breaking the bank.

H&M Home has to be my all time favourites for budget-friendly, stylish homeware & I often find myself stocking up on their inexpensive cushion covers, quality bedding and quirky kitchen-wear.

6 ways to style your home on a budget featuring H&M

1) Layer up on textiles

After last year’s sell out leaf print cushion…H&M have bought back a new Spring/Summer 2017 version in a beautiful, darker colourway. Adding some in-expensive cushions or layering up textures instantly adds style, so I’d pick yourselves up a couple of these leaf print cushion covers before they sell out again!

Whilst this budget-friendly chunky-knit blanket is the perfect, cosy addition to layer at the end of your bed or to instantly style up your sofa. They have some really reasonably priced throws and blankets at the moment which look a lot more expensive than they are. Win!

2) Buy high-quality bedding

For me, you can’t beat high quality, freshly washed bedding for a good night’s sleep. I’ve been lusting after the relaxed, chic look of french linen bedding for a while now but they’ve all been pretty pricey in a king-size! So I think H&M’s Washed linen duvet cover is the perfect, budget-friendlier version that’s both super soft & has a high thread count.

3) Add a luxe rug

My favourite one from H&M is their Jacquard patterned cotton rug above that I think is an understated but stylish choice.

4) Invest in stylish storage

Another budget-friendly way to add some serious style to your home is storage, like this glittery storage basket. I’ve seen these jute/belly baskets everywhere at the moment, so for £15 I think this would be a cheap way to style up a real or faux potted plant.

5) Add a touch of gold

My favourite trick to instantly add glamour without having to splurge is by adding touches of gold to your home. My H&M favourites are the metal figurine, gold candlesticks & the black & gold glass vase that is hard to believe is only £8.99.

6) Upgrade your kitchenware

And last but not least, if you’re on a budget but still want to update your kitchen then take a look at H&M’s kitchenware section. They have some amazing pieces at the moment that could instantly jazz up your plain cups & plates by adding a few of these to your collection.

All for under £10, my favourites are the Hand-painted stoneware cup, the matching hand-painted stoneware plate & these fab, flamingo printed porcelain plates that would look amazing layered with bog standard, white, dinner plates and gold cutlery.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my 6 ways to style your home on a budget, it just goes to show there are some great highstreet finds out there!  I’ll be bringing you some more of my favourite, budget-friendly, highstreet finds soon! Thanks for reading.
