Happy New Year everyone, I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Christmas & NYE. I’ve spent the festive period catching up with family & friends and have had a lovely break. We spent xmas with my family up in the Midlands and then travelled down south to have belated celebrations with my boyfriend’s family & to see our friends before heading back up for NYE.
I’ve been truly spoilt this year, & most of my presents have had an interior slant! First my boyfriend surprised me with a ridiculously indulgent item that we’ve both been wanting/ lusting after for a while now…. a proper barista style coffee machine to fuel our coffee addiction!
The Big One
You know you have a problem when a Nespresso machine doesn’t even cut it! We often find ourselves cursing where we live as there isn’t really anywhere nearby that does a decent latte/ flat white. So unwrapping this beaut Sage by Heston Blumenthal the Barista Express Coffee Machine & Grinder was a total shocker on Christmas morning, as it’s a proper indulgence/investment level machine and I bloody love it already!
We’ve been geeking out over xmas watching tutorials & learning all about the perfect grind, how to tamper the coffee & tips on how to properly froth our milk/ latte art how to’s to wow our guests (it takes a lot of practice!) I still have a lot to learn to nail the perfect cup of coffee but I was pretty chuffed with myself when I managed to make a pretty decent flat white this morning. Cheers Heston!
The Wild Card
He also surprised me with his ‘wild card’ choice too, an Abigail Ahern EDITION Orange Gorilla Lamp. Fuelling my love of quirky, eccletic interiors I was both impressed that he a) picked it himself and b) actually likes it. No idea where he’ll go at the moment but we’ve decided to called him Boris!
The Interior Bits & Pieces
The rest of my family/ his also kindly gave us some other interior bits & pieces for our home… I think he may of had a hand in that too as most of them from his family were Abigail Ahern!
I got a lovely cow hide rug sourced from Ebay from my mum, a retro chicken egg holder from my brother, a faux fur mohair cushion from my dad and the below from his mum/ sister.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my what I got for Christmas post, let me know any special presents you got this Christmas in the comments below.
