As highstreet stores gear up for Christmas already despite Halloween not even out of the way, I’ve already been eyeing up this year’s beauty advent calendar offerings way in advance as annoying come mid November, many will inevitably be sold out (true story 2015.)
Last year I was reduced to engaging in frantic Ebay bidding wars trying to get hold of one of the elusive & much coveted ‘must have’ calendars. After ‘swooping’ in, in the last minute of bidding – I triumphantly won said calendar. Queue elation and fist pumping…yep, I really did that. But afterwards, it quickly dawned on me that I’d been willing to part with upwards of £100 for essentially a load of minis…
Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good mini product as much as the next girl. There is just something about the sight of teeny bottles and shrunken versions of products that make me lose my shit! But I begrudge paying an inflated price on Ebay for them, come late November when every brand’s beauty calendar is already sold out in stores and online.
I now know better, instead of naively thinking I’d be able to peruse each brand offering and make a considered choice as to which one I’d like to buy this year, I was instead quick off the mark and pre-ordered this year’s Look Fantastic Advent Calendar 2016 back in early October. Winning! I’m chuffed, as it arrived over the weekend and let me tell you it’s bloody huge!
This year’s Look Fantastic Advent Calendar 2016 is still available to pre-order, but be quick as it sold out in 2 weeks last year. Last year’s calendar was crammed with so many cult products from the likes of Pai, Moroccan Oil, Ren, Molton Brown, Caudalie, Redken, Lord & Berry & more. But at £70.00 for an advent calendar the price initially seems steep, but boasting over £300 worth of products inside personally I think it’s well worth the money. (Especially when you paid nearly double that to get hold of last year’s calendar.)
So be quick and treat yourself for the Christmas countdown this year, but don’t worry if you miss out on Look Fantastic’s calendar, loads of other brands have some cracking ones still available to order. My favourites are Drinks by the Dram Gin Advent Calendar (£135), Charlotte Tilbury World of legendary parties advent calendar (£150) No 7 Bright Lights Big City Advent Calendar (£39, still available in stores) or Nyx Professional Makeup Advent Calendar- Wunderlust (£60.)
I hope you’ve enjoyed my Beauty Advent Calendars 2016 post, I’m interested to know which beauty advent calendar you choose this year. Let me know in the comments below.
